A couple of October announcements from Cypress:

*The Drive For Schools is underway. Between now and October 17th, let’s sell some raffle tickets! Last year Cypress raised about $3,000. The goal this year is $3500. Please make the effort to sell at least one book (or buy them yourself!). All students received a book of tickets at school to bring home, and more are of course available in the office. Let’s get those tickets out there: please contact friends & family, tap business resources, bring tickets with you to work, organizations and associations.

*10/3 Candidate Forum 6:30-8 on Felt St. (The Center for Spiritual Living) Please turn out for a forum to hear from the candidates running for two seats on the LOSD Board of Trustees.

*10/4 Early Dismissal: 1st period still starts at 8:30 (2nd at 9:50), and students are dismissed from 3rd period at 12:55 (4th at 2:15).

*10/5 Principal’s Coffee 8-9am: I’ll be at People’s Coffee to chat and listen and to make myself available to parents off campus. If you’d like to have a cup of tea or coffee with me, come on by.

*10/10 Parent Ed Night: Monday October 10th please come to Cypress (Rm B5) to hear two presentations: learn more about Invincible Youth (including our plans for all grade levels); and the latest from Cypress’ work with Gender Spectrum.

*10/14 Holiday: No School 10/14! (Teacher work day)

  • Traffic Control
You're cooperation is requested regarding our neighbor, Del Mar Elementary School. There are traffic controls on Merrill St. during Elementary drop off and pick up times. Personally, I generally use Alice St. & Jamie Ln. to arrive at Cypress, and I request that you do the same. Whether there are traffic breaks and barriers set up or not, I’d like to minimize the number of cars driving through an Elementary campus at all hours. If you do forget, please respect the elementary school’s speed bumps, barricades, curbs, and speed limit. Thanks for your cooperation.

SchoolBlocks offers a unique and powerful personalized search system. A member of the public, searching for "homework" might see an announcement from the school as the first result. However, if the user is logged in, they would see their teacher’s latest homework assignment as the top result.
